Notes: Our story takes place after Lion King 2: Simba's Pride. Some time has passed since the last film, and things are peaceful in the Pridelands, and that is where we begin. In our RP, Zira and Scar are still alive. To our way of thinking, we never actually saw their corpses, so thus, they are still alive, though fairly old.
There are a few new lands that lie in the west that have been introduced into our RP. These include the Brushlands, The Oasis, Fang Cove, and The Pensian Empire. If you travel due west from Pride Rock, you will hit the barren, dusty, brush-like lands named after the vegetation: The Brushlands. These lands are wide and vast, almost desert-like, and are very hot with no shade and little water. But once you get past the Brush, you will hit the Oasis, or Dark Haven as it was called by its original inhabitants. The Oasis is like a jungle, with rich vegetation of numerous sorts, with great leafy trees and vines and flowers. It truly is beautiful. Deeper within the Oasis is the Pensian Empire, a land with ruined temples that is ruled by a group of leopards. Back in the Brush, if you start to travel south before you hit the Oasis, you will come to a slightly grassier Brush and Fang Cove, a rather large monolith with a cave with a group of bones at its entrance, hence its name. This basic geography will help bring better understanding of the RP.

In the beginning, all was quiet. King Simba and Queen Nala were happily ruling the flourishing Pridelands. Their daughter, Princess Kiara, and their son-in-law, Prince Kovu, were also happy, for they were together with no longer any contradiction. They had many friends, like the meerkat Timon and warthog Pumbaa, as well as many loyal lionesses.
One day, a frail rogue grey lion ventured into the Pridelands. Simba, Nala, Kiara, and Kovu all rushed to the dying lion, and his final words he told them of a land they'd never heard of with exquisite beauty and nature, a land of fortune and paradise.
This highly intrigued Kiara, and after begging her father relentlessly to let her go, Simba finally agreed to let Kiara and Kovu set off on their own and try and find these new lands for themselves, where they would start their own pride. With them they took ten of the pride's best lionesses, among those being Vitani, Kovu's sister.
While they set out, two other pride lionesses who did not leave, were talking amonst themselves. They were called Naeri, a princess from a now-extinct pride called The Red Fang, and Safire, a royal blue lioness who was the sister of the most beautiful (and stuck-up, lazy) lioness to ever live, Siera. They were later joined by Jahari, called the 'prince' of the Pridelands due to his nature to stay cool and upbeat, and help all those in need. However, Naeri suddenly got upset and left for the Gorge. Jahari and Safire followed in pursuit.
Meanwhile, Siera was sunbathing near the Outlands when a husky figure appeared on the scene. This was Sengalo, the true son of Scar, who had been living in the Outlands and wherever he pleased most of his whole life. Siera took immediately to this stranger, and for whatever reason, found herself flirting madly with this dark rogue lion. Sengalo didn't quite know what to think of this.
Together, Sengalo and Siera walked and talked briefly, still barely even acquainted. It was then that they realized they were feeling a little peckish, and Sengalo picked a gazelle for a kill. Skillfully, he brought the beast down. Siera, who had never hunted before, had hesitated at first, but eventually jumped in, and a madness seemed to suddenly over-take her rather placid nature. She ripped at the flesh and growled savagely, until realizing what she had done. Embarrassed and frightened by her own actions, she mumbled a sorry and fled from a confused, fairly hurt Sengalo.
Back at the Gorge, Naeri had plunged herself into it, depressed and upset. Soon Safire and Jahari joined her, but all three were instantly attacked by Black Wolves. After a vicious battle, Safire killed the leader of the wolves, but then died herself. Naeri and Jahari sadly left the scene. Naeri took off to the east, and Jahari slumped back to Pride Rock to inform Simba of the loss of Safire.
A few days passed. Safire was actually not dead, and was found by a friendly wolf named Romala who nursed her back to a life. Naeri was hiding out by Rafiki's tree and was depressed, thinking of her friend, and of her past, and the things that could have been... and her future. Siera was back at Pride Rock sulking miserably, missing Sengalo, and not eating or drinking, completely 'oh woe to me'.
Kiara and company had just reached the outskirts of the Oasis, or Dark Haven, if you will. Dark Haven was ruled by a vicious, mean, burly black lion named Valen, the biggest brute and deadliest fighter you'll ever meet. He, along with his sly, cunning, vision-seeing sister Saliek, ruled his land with an iron paw, and was none to happy to hear that there were invaders headed his way. His sister warned him not to fight, that they would lose the battle as well as their home, but Valen persisted.
A bloody battle ensued. Both sides lost lives, but the Pridelanders seemed to be losing. However, even when things looked the worst for the Pridelanders, Saliek forced Valen to call off the battle and, mysteriously, he complied. The rather shocked remains of the Pridelanders entered the Oasis for the first time, while the Dark Haveners moved east through the Brush. Both sides were battered and injured, and while the Pridelanders rejoiced at their victory, the Dark Haveners seethed. Valen roared in anguish, a roar which could be heard for miles.
Teferi, a muscular gray lion who had been betrothed to Naeri and who was living in Fang Cove, heard the roar, and ran to answer it. He was followed by none other than an old and grizzled Scar whose wit had not yet dimmed, nor his desire for revenge. Scar had been taken for dead when the hyenas had attacked him, but his body had been found by a group of lionesses from a distant pride called the Shadow Hunters, and they carried him to their land and tended him. Teferi later came to this same pride and either scared or killed away all of its inhabitants so that only he and Scar remained. Scar was none too happy about this, but the arrival of Valen and his lions looked promising.
Teferi and Scar offered Valen and Saliek retreat at Fang Cove, and they reluctantly accepted, their pride bruised. Scar took instant liking to Valen and Saliek, and liked their cunning, powerful qualities, unlike Teferi, who, although he called himself a king, was really king over nothing.
Back in the Pridelands, Sengalo had smelled the blood of the distant battle, and ran off to find its source. However, he was stopped by a giant golden lion who pinned him down and introduced himself as Kopa, son of Simba. Kopa had been thought to be dead and murdered by Zira years ago, but had been found and raised elsewhere. Only now was he returning home, now fully-grown and powerfully built. Kopa had been betrothed to Siera, and when he smelled Siera's scent on Sengalo, he went mad and hit Sengalo before running off to Pride Rock.
Kopa was warmly welcomed by all, except for one. Siera seemed cold and distant, her thoughts entirely wrapped around Sengalo. Despite her desires to be queen, she thought only of the rogue whom she'd briefly met, and it'd been many years since she'd seen Kopa. Simba and Nala, however, were over-joyed and happy beyond belief that their only son was still alive after all of these years. The Pride had a heir once more.
Siera, in anguish, took off to find Sengalo, and Kopa followed her. But a deeply hurt Kopa soon realized who she was after, and stopped the chase as it began to thunder and pour rain. He laid out in the rain and his utter sorrow quickly changed over to rage, and he swore to kill Sengalo and Siera especially for betraying him.
Siera eventually found Sengalo and told him her woes, and how she had run away. The two of them tried to flee to the Outlands in the storm, but instead found themselves at the Brush. Siera, who was weary and weak, eventually fainted.
Kopa was met by Jahari, his old childhood best-friend. Jahari was saddened at the thought that he wouldn't be considered for the throne now, but was happy to see his friend once more, even though that friend was utterly miserable at the moment. They were later greeted by Naeri and Safire. The two had met up again on their way back home to Pride Rock, Safire having had left Romala in the Gorge. When the rain began to lift, the four of them trekked back home to Pride Rock, all feeling a little down.
Back in the Oasis, time has flash-forwarded by a few days. A mysterious deadly sickness has taken hold of the Pridelanders, and all but Kiara, a lioness named Kamaria, and a lioness named Zakiya are dying. One has already passed away and another is close. Kiara requests for Kamaria and Zakiya to find help of any sorts, and the two lionesses venture off into the jungle, searching and sniffing and sneezing from all the new scents, only to be ambushed by a group of leopards.
The leopards, led by the fearsome H'Baura, locked Kamaria and Zakiya away. Zakiya, in desperation, fought back, and later was released only to be killed by a savage pack of leopards. They dragged her corpse into the middle of the jungle and left it to rot while Kamaria was still trapped.
Meanwhile, back at Fang Cove, the Dark Haveners are quickly regaining their strength. Scar has called for a meeting between Valen, Saliek, and Teferi, and after much discussion, the group have decided to set aside their differences and create a fierce Alliance whose goal of which was not only to reclaim Dark Haven, but to take all of the Pridelands as well and teach the Pridelanders a lesson. The beginnings of the true Alliance is forged, and, as if on cue, two old Shadow Hunters reappear, a lioness named Nyota and a lion named Runako, who also both agree to the pact after some convincing from Scar.
Shortly after the Alliance was formed, a powerful, ferocious leopard of the Pensain Empire named Ayele appeared with some of his cunning warriors. They offered the leopards as a part of the Alliance and signed it in blood - Teferi's blood. The young grey lion was massacred and ripped to shreds by Ayele and his leopards and a few of the Dark Haveners, leaving a rather gruesome message to all.
Back in the Pridelands, Runako has been captured and taken captive under Simba and Rafiki's watchful eye. He seems to know a lot more than he is telling, and the Pridelanders are beginning to become suspicious. Rafiki's prophesy of a return to evil and fire doesn't make everyone feel too comfortable, either...
The storms are beginning to grow. The horizons are darkened.
AND THAT'S THE RP IN A NUTSHELL SO FAR!
